During my recent stay at the Gilberts, I was greeted with a delightful touch-a slice of coffee and walnut cake-a small yet welcoming gesture. The breakfast experience was totally relaxed, allowing me to savor my meal at my own pace. I was particularly impressed with the variety, choosing between a full English or continental offerings, all prepared with fresh, local produce. Each morning, I could enjoy DIY breakfast with all the ingredients provided, including homemade jam. It was refreshing to brew tea in the comfort of my pajamas, without the rush of a formal dining setting. The ambiance was tranquil, given the rural surroundings, and as the only guest, I found it to be a peaceful haven. Chrissy, our host, was approachable and always available for any questions or requests. The intimate atmosphere, combined with the characterful farmhouse features, made for a charming stay. The Gilberts is an excellent base for exploring local attractions, and I would consider returning for another gourmet getaway.
